PRE-SCHOOL

Pre-School Room

The Pre-school is located on the ground floor and is divided into two open plan areas. This caters for our 3-5 year old children whose daily routine prepares them for their move to school.

The room is equipped with a book corner, a role play area and creative area for messy play, as well as a child focused IT system which the children have access to.

As part of our nursery curriculum the pre-school children benefit from two extra curricular activities a week. Twinkle Toes is a dance and mime class which is led by an experienced dance teacher, and Stretch ‘n’ Grow is a fun based exercise class which teaches the children about different parts of the body and the changes they notice when they exercise.

As an extension to the room, the children have free flow between indoors and outdoors. This allows them to continue their learning experience in both environments.

Pre-school have their own brightly decorated toilets with sinks at children’s height to encourage independence.

TODDLERS
Toddlers Room

The Toddlers benefit from a large room which is equipped with a book corner, numeracy area, construction area and IT system. They also benefit from a dedicated home corner which encourages their role-play. The open plan space allows the flexibility to include a “messy area” for children to develop their sensory experiences.

As part of our nursery curriculum the Toddler room children benefit from Stretch ‘n’ Grow. This is a fun based exercise class which teaches the children about different parts of the body and the changes they notice when they exercise.

The toddlers have access to their own dedicated colourful toilets, nappy changing area and small sinks at their height allowing them to be self sufficient.

We also have provisions for children who are potty training and work with parents to help ease the transition from nappies to being toilet trained.

TEENIES

Our Teenie room caters for children between the ages of 18 months and 2 years. Whilst still maintaining the 1:3 ratio, the activities and toys provided are suiltable for their age allowing them to develop skills before they move into the Toddler room.

Within their room there are several areas including a book corner where they are able to choose a book or to engage with their friends in singing nursery rhymes, a home corner to encourage their role-playing, a construction area to help develop their coordination and a messy area for sensorial play.

Our Teenies & Babies enjoy “Baby Signing” as part of their extra curricular activity. The children have learnt a range of signs which helps them communicate with staff. They also enjoy signing the new songs they have been taught using the actions that go with them as part of their every day play.

BABIES
Babies Room

Babies benefit from a large, bright open plan day room, well equipped with activities and toys suitable for their age. They also have a messy play area where they are encouraged to develop and grow through the use of creative activities.

Music is played throughout the day coupled with the baby mobiles which hang from the ceiling, creating a calm and soothing atmosphere.

The babies also have a separate changing room, milk preparation area and dedicated sleep room where they are provided with their own bedding.

SENSORY ROOM

All the children benefit from a dedicated sensory room. This area has many elements which encourages the child’s senses through a soothing and stimulating environment.

OUTDOOR PLAY

Outdoors

We offer a large, secure garden containing a variety of activities and equipment for children, allowing them to explore and develop their social skills. Our pre-school children helped develop a vegetable patch, where they were encouraged to grow their own food. We hope to continue with the success of this project in the spring.

The garden is split into several areas, including the latest impact resistant surface to ensure peace of mind when any tumbles occur. We also have a large grassed area, as well as a natural “digging area” where they are encouraged to promote their knowledge and understanding of the world.

All the children in the nursery benefit from the outdoor garden throughout the day.

“Extremely happy with all the staff and facilities, and my child is so happy to attend” – DW
